Whimsical 3 Panel Cont'd

Here is a current photo of the Whimsical 3 Panel piece in my workspace. Palette on the left and inspirational imagery along the top.

Some layering here and there and this piece is finding new dimensions. There is a lot more potential and stages to come, as this is only the first few layers to bring in shapes, a little texture, and some movement.

As I continue to work on this piece some will come forward, some will move to the shadows in the back. The texture pieces will become highlighted when I start to work in silver and other accents.

From Pencil to Pen: Counting Creatures Cont'd

After my composition consult with the author I continued to convert the pencil sketches into pen. This will allow the author to confirm the level of "reality" portrayed in the illustrations. For this book she wanted the illustrations to be more "realistic", but not entirely.

These are still considered sketches as they are preliminary and small. Once we have determined the final drafts of the illustrations I will move to 8"x8" canvas paper with acrylic for the final illustrations to be used in print publication.
